Our Story
TruYou was founded directly in the midst of the Global Pandemic of 2020, in the heart of Detroit, Michigan.
“In April of 2020, I lost my job as a result of Covid-19. This loss triggered a life changing journey into searching for my TRU purpose on this earth. That journey naturally led me back to my passion of makeup artistry, and pushed me to get my estheticians license so that I could become a full time beauty professional. Within months, I turned my basement into my first studio salon space and embarked into my journey as a solo esthetician. It was never my intention to specialize in brows until one of my brow videos randomly went viral on tik-tok, accumulating nearly 1 million views. From then on, it became my most requested service.
After nearly 2 years as a full time beauty pro...I was finally able to recognize that my TRU passion is people. Being able to connect with my clients & enhance their lives even if only for that moment was what lit the fire inside of me. Once I began to educate other passionate professionals, my fire began to blaze and I hope to continue to be a light to all that I may encounter. My mission on this earth is the educate, empower, & inspire endlessly.
